The Women’s 3rd XI is the team that holds a special place in the Women’s Section. Primarily filled
with youth players, it’s the team where players from the youth section make the transition into
playing Leinster Women’s league. The ethos of the team is improving your skills but developing
together, getting a greater awareness of the game and building friendships.
Under the careful guidance of Yolandi Van Der Westhuizen, the improvement this season has been
very noticeable. With back-to-back wins on consecutive nights last week against Balbriggan and
Adamstown, and another in the local derby against Terenure on Monday, it keeps this season’s
unbeaten run intact, and with a semi-final of the cup to look forward to, the team spirit is flying high.
Captained by Olivia Pacitto, with her vice-captain Ava Deacon and team manager, Susan Butler, the
future of the Women’s sections looks in safe hands and we look forward to great things in the
future.
